The Derwent Hunt have run their annual Point-to-Point horse racing event at Charm Park since 1948 and it’s an important event in the Hunt’s calendar.

The first of the six races, The Members, is due to run at 12.30pm.

The hotly-tipped favourite for this race will be last year’s winner Tasheba.

Harpsy Chord and Refusal will also be pushing for glory in this opener.

There is a public bar, refreshments and barbecue, as well as onsite betting.

If you have never been to a point-to-point before, but you enjoy the idea of watching some hotly-contested horse racing in the Yorkshire countryside, this could be for you.

A total of 91 entries have been received for the meeting.

As well as The Members, there will also be The Club Members’ Race, The Men’s Open, The Ladies’ Open, The Restricted Race and the final race on the card, The Open Maiden.

Entry is £10 per person with Under-16s free.
