BORO manager Neil Thompson is keen to offer contract terms to midfielder Stuart Elliott.
The former Newcastle United and Darlington player who comes from the North-east, looked very impressive against York City in the 3-3 friendly on Friday night in front of 612 fans.
Thompson said: Stuart is still only 24 and looks a quality player and we would like to see what we can offer him.
He will be coming down for a training session this week and for the Derby County friendly on Saturday.
Another player who caught the eye was returning defender Chris Short. Chris was very composed on the ball and has a lot of experience. We don't want to over-burden him with games and will have to see how he feels today.
He could have 45 minutes at North Ferriby tomorrow night if everything is alright."
Paul Ellender did not play because of an infected graze on his leg, while young goalkeeper Paul Newton was given the whole match to gain more vital experience.
Paul is still learning and will play again tomorrow night. We need someone to put Andy Woods under pressure for the number one shirt. Competition is important in the squad, said Thompson.
