BORO have handed one-year professional deals to four local lads.

Strikers Michael Coulson and Ryan Blott, midfielder Jimmy Beadle and defender Carl Cook have all signed deals with the club, keeping them at the McCain Stadium until at least the end of next term.

Blott and Cook have made an impression with the under-19s this season, while Beadle and Coulson have gained valuable first-team experience – Coulson being involved in a number of Conference matches.

Boro head coach Nick Henry said: "It is great news for the club, these lads are hopefully the future of the team.

"Michael has been especially impressive this season, coming into the first team, with Jimmy taking his place on the bench in recent matches.

"Ryan has been unlucky with injury, if he hadn't done that to his knee then he could well have been in or around the first team.

"Carl has also impressed, he has played a few games for the reserves this year. I think he is a late developer because he was at the club as a youngster, but now we think he is ready."
