Liam Lowery took a superb 6-8 as Flixton B boosted their division C promotion push with a five-wicket win at home to promotion rivals Seamer B.

Lowery’s explosive spell helped dismiss Seamer for 119, Matty Morris top-scoring with 37. Lowery’s unbbeaten 25 then saw Flixton home by five wickets, Jack Walmsley having hit 32 earlier.

Paul Greenhough claimed three wickets and hit 28no as his Oriel A team earned a crucial five-wicket victory at home to Ebberston B.

The gap between basement club Snainton and second-placed Seamer B is only six points so any team can force their way into the promotion race with a couple of wins, but conversely any dip in form could see them sliding towards the dropzone.

Greenhough’s slow bowling saw him claim 3-11, while teenager Rowan South bagged 4-11 and Will Wood took 3-18 as the visitors slipped to 65 all out.

An unbeaten 28 from Greenhough saw Oriel home, after an early wobble had seen them lose five wickets.

Leaders Heslerton continue to look odds-on to go up after they maintained their unbeaten start with a 27-run success at struggling Snainton.

Daley Wharton’s 36no, allied to 36 from Sam Triffitt helped Heslerton post 120-6, Rob Holt the pick of the Snainton bowlers with 3-24.

Jason Oakley’s 29 was the only innings of note as the home side were dismissed for 93.

Wharton also shone with the ball, snapping up 3-11, while Matty Webster bagged 3-12.
