Glew was offered solid support from Tom Brough (54) and Nigel Kendrew (51no) as the hosts racked up 267-3.

James Tindall then snapped up a magnificent 7-48 as Staithes were skittled out for 88 runs.

Heslerton were made to work hard for their 14-run triumph at second-from-bottom Cayton.

Alex Carrie top-scored with 53 as the visitors posted 181-9, and in reply Jez Riley struck 65 and all-rounder Paul Woodhead added 52 but the tight bowling of Andy Slaughter (3-33) and Adam Spaven (3-50) saw the hosts pegged back to 167-9.

Eddie Craggs hammered an unbeaten 104 for Ebberston in their 10-wicket success at home to Flixton 2nds, sharing an unbeaten opening stand of 181 with Matty Turnbull (74no).

Earlier Pete Hill had led the way for Flixton with 64, Geoff Hill chipping in with 43 as they posted 180-7, Matty Webster clamiing 4-54.

Cloughton look to be heading for relegation after their nine-wicket defeat at third-placed Staxton.

Ex-Cloughton batsman Nick Gibson’s unbeaten 48 secured the win after Andrew Holtby had earlier taken 3-9 as the visitors were shot out for 73.

In division C there was a run-fest, Ganton duo Alistair Lim smashing 139 and Rob Gretton unbeaten on 101 as the visitors posted 305-5 at title-chasing Scalby 2nds.

The hosts then gained maximum batting points with a total of 200 all out, mainly thanks to the efforts of Nigel Clapham (47), Alex White (44), Paul Marton (35) and Lee Kerr (25), but it was the bowling of the all-round star Limb (4-43) which made sure the hosts fell well short of their difficult target.

This defeat for Scalby saw Thornton Dale gain a one-point lead at the top of the table over them after a 13-run win at Staithes 2nds.

With division A leaders Filey out of action, second-placed Seamer reduced their lead to 10 points after earning a seven-wicket win at home to Brompton.

Greg Chadwick’s unbeaten 59 and 53 from Joe Tiffany ensured the win for the hosts after Brompton had earlier been dismissed for 180.

Tom Pateman (66) and Sam Cooper (57) were the leading lights for the visitors, but Sam Park (4-44) and Matty Morris (3-30) put Seamer in a strong position.

Wold Newton gave themselves a chance of beating the drop after winning by 75 runs at home to fellow strugglers Scalby.

Charlie Gray’s unbeaten 49 proved to be crucial as the hosts were sent back to the pavilion for 137, with Jon Barton, Sam Fox and Paul Hesp taking three wickets apiece. Scalby then slumped to 62 all outt, Will Gray taking 4-18 and Oliver West 3-18 for the victors in a vital victory.

Glynn Botterill’s unbeaten 111 helped Wykeham consolidate second place in divisionB with a 91-run win at home to rivals Forge Valley 2nds, while unbeaten leaders Grindale swept to an eight-wicket win at home to Duncombe Park 2nds, all-round ace Ian Cousins taking 3-33 then hitting 41 for the pacesetters.
