EVENING LEAGUE: Filey and Flixton wrap up title wins

Filey sealed their first Andy Hire Evening League top-flight title since 2002 on a rain-affected Thursday night, with Flixton B beating Wykeham B to wrap up the Division C title.

All games were rained off in Division A, handing Filey the title, while Scalby and Wykeham both had their relegation to Division B confirmed.

Flixton and Cayton both had their promotion from Division B rubber stamped as all the games were rained off, while Seamer B were relegated.

In Division C, Flixton B managed to get some action in and beat Wykeham B by 64 runs to wrap up the title.

Carl Sample top-scored with 32, with Elliot Hatton (29) and Fin Ward (24) supporting in their 126-3.

Noman Shabir then took 3-4 and Charlie Hatton 3-17 as Wykeham finished on 62-6, 64 runs short of victory.

Ebberston B beat Cayton B by six wickets.

M Sayers hit 28 in Cayton's 116-7, which wasn't enough as Eddie Craggs and John Metcalfe both hit 25 as Ebberston cruised to 118-4.

Scalby B were on 28-1 at Ravenscar when the rain fell and curtailed their clash, while the other games were all rained off.

Flixton B 126-3 (Elliot Hatton 29, Finlay Ward 24, Carl Sample 32) beat *Wykeham B 62-6 (Charlie Hatton 3-17, Noman Shabir 3-4) by 64 runs. Flixton B are Champions.
