Folkton & Flixton will be aiming to get away to a winning start to their 2021 York Senior League Premier Division campaign when they travel to Hull Zingari on Saturday afternoon.

Under the stewardship of new captain Tom Norman who takes over from previous skipper Harry Walmsley, Flixton will no doubt be keen to push for promotion to the Yorkshire Premier League North this season.

Youngster Max Harland joins the club permanently after his successful loan spell in the 2020 season, while Jamie Nesfield also returns to the club after a brief stint at Cayton.

Flixton are also in National Village Cup action on Sunday when they play host to CPH Scarborough Beckett League side Cayton.

The new skipper will be keen to emulate the efforts of his brother Will Norman, who lifted the National Village Cup silverware at Lord’s in 2018.

Scarborough 2nds also return to York Senior League action for the first time since 2019 when they open their Division One East season up with a home match against Beverley 2nds at North Marine Road.

Following the departure of former captain Mark Cowell, Nick Zakrzewski has taken on the role of overseeing the club’s second string, who won promotion to the division in 2019.
