Youngster Max Harland also chipped in with two catches and a wicket for Folkton & Flixton.

The Bolton-based visitors were all out for 145 in 39 overs, the main reason they set a target at all was the fine batting of Kieran Shields (48).

Richard Malthouse’s unbeaten 61 saw off the challenge of the visitors, hitting eight fours a couple of sixes.

Malthouse shared an opening stand of 87 with Edward Hopper (25), and his unbroken partnership of 59 for the second wicket with Will Hutchinson (36no) secured the win for Folkton & Flixton from only 23.3 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Twenty-four hours earlier, Folkton & Flixton’s York League Division One East title hopes were given a boost thanks to a great win at Sutton-on-Hull.

The hosts, who won for the first time last week made a dream start against Flixton, taking two quick wickets, but a stand of 78 between Will Hutchinson (40) and Will Norman (87) followed by another worth 97 between Norman and Harry Walmsley (45) helped their side recover to 219-9, Charlie Andrew dismissing Norman on his way to figures of 3-53.

The home side found themselves in similar trouble early in their innings but four wickets from Connor Stephenson prevented them from mounting a comeback, Harland and Hopper taking two wickets apiece.

Ben Graham top-scored with 31 and was responsible for his side reaching 147 before they were bowled out.

Folkton & Flixton will look to continue their stunning start to the campaign at an out-of-form Patrington side this Saturday, 1pm start.
