STAXTON all-rounder Linden Gray was the record-breaking star as his side bagged a six-wicket win against Filey in the AndyHire League’s division A.
Spinner Gray produced amazing figures of 8-7 from four overs, which is the best performance since limited overs were introduced to the league 25 years ago.
This spell helped to demolish Filey for 80, before Gray (27) and Adam Hargreaves (28) teamed up to knock off the runs.
Oliver Stephenson hit an unbeaten 36 as Flixton passed Wykeham’s 79-6 to claim a win by eight wickets.
Ebberston’s Dylan Bolton was also in form with the bat, his undefeated 51 saw his team to victory by five wickets against Scalby.
Ganton had two solid performances to thank in division B as they beat Wykeham B by 33 runs.
Firstly Rob Middlewood struck a confident 52 in their tally of 150-3. Then Alistair Limb bagged 4-2, including a hat-trick, to wrap things up.
Seamer produced a fine batting display as they strode past Cayton by 86 runs.
Joe Danby kicked off with 39, then Tom Irwin and Darrol Lewis both posted 47 not out to take the score to 171-3.
Adam Morris’ 3-8 made sure Cayton fell short.
Snainton’s Steve Eyre was unlucky to be on the losing side in division C, as Seamer B edged them out by seven runs.
Eyre’s 86 in 146-5 was not enough, as Dave Graham’s 57 led Seamer home.
