Major shines in home win

THE Scarborough and District Cricket Development Group Joe Lumb XI eased to a 58-run win against Pocklington School in a Twenty20 match at North Marine Road.

John Major led the way for the hosts with a fluent 65, while Scarborough CC first-teamer Theo Smith added a useful 38 as the Joe Lumb side posted 154-8.

The top Pock bowlers were Tim Brader with 3-28 and J Sowers with 2-6.

In reply, Darren Mills and Lindon Gray snapped up two wickets apiece as Pock limped to 96-6, Ian Green hitting 33 and Dan Atkinson 27no.

Keith Local and Graham Griffiths umpired the game.
