Scarborough 2nds suffer agonising defeat while Flixton edge past Selby

Scarborough CC’s 2nd team suffered an agonising defeat at home to Rowntrees & Huntington in division three south of the York League.

Batting first, Scarborough made 187-7, Ash Kundi making his way to 78.

In reply Tom Bruce collected two wickets while Matty Kay and Chris Hunter also chipped in with a wicket apiece to take the game down to the wire.

Rowntrees managed to squirm the two runs required with an inside edge from the penultimate delivery of the game.

Flixton were also in action as they hosted Selby in division one.

The away side batted first and made their way to 197 all out from 47 overs.

Jamie Nesfield led the attack with 4-56, while Mikey Hunter, 3-36, and Harry Walmsley, 3-46, also pitched in.

Knocks from Scott Cooper, 62, and Richard Malthouse, 54, helped Flixton home for the loss of seven wickets after 45.2 overs, collecting 30 points in the process.
