A feast of cricketing action will take place across the Scarborough area next week when the Inter-County Under-14 Festival comes to town.

A host of fixtures between teams from all over the country will take place at Scarborough’s North Marine Road, Scarborough College and Flixton Cricket Club.

The event kicks off at 1pm on Monday and will run through until Friday evening.

Scarborough Cricket Club’s David Byas said: “Development of good young cricketers to the highest levels is one of the key objectives of Scarborough CC and we are delighted to be able to offer the facilities at North Marine Road and two other excelent local grounds to support what is your festival.

“I well remember the excitement as a schoolboy of walking out to play at North Marine Road where so many great cricketers had played before me.”
