Jack Storey’s 149 saw him score a second century in three matches as he made light work of the Scarborough bowling attack and Guy Martinson made 53 before an unbeaten 48 from Matthew Bunn helped the visitors reach an imposing 335-3.

The home side responded with just 126, of which Alex Carrie made 71, as the hosts had no answer to Andrew Hamson, 6-42, and Matthew Wilkinson, 4-27 as Scarborough were replaced at the top of the Premier Division table by Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

Division One leaders Sessay hosted Folkton & Flixton and it was largely thanks to a century from Simon Mason that they won with just two balls to spare.

Jamie Nesfield fell agonisingly short of three figures as he smashed 96, and with the support of Harry Walmsley, 35, and Richard Malthouse, 32, Flixton posted a respectable 255-9.

Malthouse then took 3-34 in the home side’s reply but Mason, 113, shared partnerships of 97 with Mark Wilkie, 47, and 90 with Nick Thorne ,48, to set up the victory by two wickets.

Flixton are at home to Bolton Percy next Saturday.

Charlie Roberts was the star of the show as Scarborough 2nds continued their assault on the Division Three South title with a four-wicket win against Civil Service.

Service batted first and could only post a below-par 150 all out from 43 overs as Roberts collected fine bowling figures of 5-34, only C Lowen’s 45 troubling the scorers.

Scarborough cruised to the victory after tea as Roberts added to his contributions with the ball by hitting a fine 58 as Mark Cowell’s league leaders made it to their target for the loss of six wickets after 37.5 overs.

Cowell’s men travel to Goole Town 2nds on Saturday.
