Wingrove ton steers Ebberston 2nds to win at Great Habton 2nds

James Wingrove’s outstanding knock of 115 helped Ebberston 2nds continue their great start to the Division B season with a five-wicket win at Great Habton 2nds.

A century stand between openers Jack Stockdale (60) and Charlie Coulson (34) gave the hosts a steady start.

The third-wicket partnership of 120 between captain Dan Walker (64 not out from 52 deliveries) and James Bulmer (51 not out in 41 balls) was much more aggressive and Habton must have been confident of victory after setting 226-2 from 40 overs.

An astonishing 115 from just 63 balls by Wingrove, which saw him smash nine sixes and 10 fours, was the driving force behind the successful run-chase.

Wingrove shared a 123-run stand with Jordan Welford, who struck 60, as Ebberston eased to victory with eight balls and five wickets to spare.

Nawton Grange 2nds won by four wickets at home to Snainton.

Sam Degazon and George Bentley took three wickets as Snainton were pegged back to 118-7, only Michael Kipling’s unbeaten 48 helping the visitors pass three figures.

Tony Hulme’s 3-18 kept Snainton in with a fighting chance, but Darren Smith (52) and Bentley (22no) confirmed the win for Grange.

Thornton Dale 2nds won by two wickets in a thrilling clash at Malton & Old Malton 3rds.

Division A leaders Glaisdale maintained their 100% record with a 29-run derby win at Grosmont.

Ganton conceded their game at Ravenscar, while the Fylingdales v Scalby 2nds match was called off due to a wet pitch.

Flamborough coasted to a Division C win at home to Scalby 3rds.

John Fewster (26) was the only batsman to shine as Scalby sank to 71 all out in 29.3 overs in the face of fine bowling from Josh Harvey (3-4), Jack Waud (3-8) and Rhys Stevens (2-5).

Matt Emmerson’s 45 not out wrapped up the win from 13.3 overs.

Wykeham 3rds won by seven wickets at home to Scarborough RUFC.

Finn Holden took 3-14 as the visitors made 113-9, Mark Shippey hitting 30 for the rugby club.

Openers Lewis Eustace (33) and skipper George Shannon (25) guided Wykeham to victory.

Bridlington 3rds claimed a 69-run at Ganton 2nds.
