YORK LEAGUE: Scarborough 2nds ease to victory

Scarborough 2nds eased to an eight-wicket win against New Earswick in the York Cricket League division three south, while Flixton lost out at home to Malton & Old Malton in division one.

Callum Ferrie took a superb 6-33 as Earswick were skittled for 130, Matty Kay taking 2-19 for the North Marine Road club.

Kieran Howard, 54no, and Joe Padmore, 43no, then wrapped up the win for Scarborough.

Malton boosted their chances of staying in division one with a hard-earned 18-run success at Flixton.

Will Spencer, 66no, and Wayne Dawson, 67, helped the visitors post a decent 224-9, Mikey Hunter bagging 4-44 for the home side.

Flixton batsmen, Neil Elvidge, 41, Rich Malthouse, 44, and Jamie Nesfield, 30, gave the hosts a good chance, but they fell for 206 thanks to top bowling from all-rounder Spencer, 3-22, and Chris Hudson, 3-24.
