YORK LEAGUE: Scarborough hang on for Bridge draw

Rob Pinder, who plays for Staxton in the Evening League, hit a superb 84 for York League Premier Division leaders Sheriff Hutton Bridge as Scarborough were forced to hang on for a draw.

Pinder and Paul Scaling, 47, helped the home side reach 241 despite Jack Holt’s third five-wicket haul of the season, the seam bowler finishing with 5-48 and was well supported by Theo Smith, 3-69.

The visitors were never in a position to challenge for victory Stephen Croft picking up 4-42 as they reached 125-6 as the game ended in stalemate.

Rain called an early halt to Driffield 2nds’ Division One game at home to Flixton, Ben Cadmore having hit 78 as Driffield reached 181-5 before rain halted play.
