Steve Clegg's men will now play West Pier next week in the competition's climax, despite Rosette giving them a good run for their money at Pickering Town's Mill Lane.

Boss Clegg said: "We made a few changes for the game because of the amount of matches we are playing at the moment, but we were poor on the night.

"Rosette pushed us all the way and in the end the 4-1 scoreline flattered us."

Liam Cooper moved Edgehill ahead on the half-hour, but Rosette levelled things up through Tom MacDonald and they went on to hit the post before the half-time oranges.

The riot act was read to Edgehill in the changing room and they made it 2-1 through a Joe Gallagher header just minutes after the resumption.

In the final 10 minutes of the game Edgehill added two more, sub Chris Ferrey finishing with the outside of his boot and then Gallagher steering home an Aaron Jenking pull-back.

Jackson Jowett impressed for Edgehill in behind the strikers, while Matty Burling was solid at the back.

Scalby's hopes of sealing promotion from Division Two were dealt a blow as they lost 3-1 against Ayton at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Rob Speight levelled up for Scalby after Ayton had taken the lead through a tidy Ian Laing finish, but the victors added a goal either side of the break to make sure.

Tommy Day chipped home Ayton's second from distance and then Tom Varey sent Laing through to complete the job.

Ayton boss Sean Pinder said his whole side were exceptional.

Promoted Itis Itis cruised to a 7-0 win in their outing against Cayton Corinthians.

Curtis Rose, player-boss Mikey Barker and Liam Rackham all helped themselves to two goals, with Glenn O'Neill scoring the other.

Liam Buglass was the star man for the victors.

Falsgrave and Commercial battled it out in a 2-2 draw.

Falsgrave took charge in the first half, moving two goals clear, but Commercial came charging back after the interval.

Harry Cooper's half-volley trimmed the lead, then Lee Plant converted a Macauley Riley cross to level.

Plant, Mike Hernandez and Sam Raper caught the eye for Commercial.

In the Reserve Division, Filey Town Reserves beat Scalby Reserves 5-3.

Goals from Grant Hayden, Tom Orange and Joe Gage made sure Town went in level at 3-3 when the half-time whistle blew.

After the interval Filey moved clear, with Max Gage and brother Joe's second wrapping up the win.

Hayden and Billy Coyne impressed in defence for Filey, while Ryan Baldry was the creator in chief.

Seamer Sports Reserves edged a 2-1 win against Newlands Reserves.

Jake Moore's screamer and a strike from Cameron Myerscough booked all three points.

Myerscough was the star of the show for Seamer, having switched from centre-back to the middle of midfield.

Aiden McCallion hit Newlands' goal and Carl Stephenson was their man of the match.
