Scarborough Athletic have swooped to sign Pickering Town keeper Arran Reid ahead of tonight’s gamae against Maltby.
Reid, who played 40 games for Boro before leaving for Tadcaster and then Pickering, has been snapped up to replace retiring stopper Steve Wilson.
Wilson called time on his spell at Queensgate after Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Liversedge.
Boss Rudy Funk said: “We are delighted to have signed Arran, he is a great addition for us.
“I have to say thank you to a lot of people after the transfer was rushed through before the game against Maltby.
“The biggest thank you must go to Arran’s dad Jimmy Reid, who is manager at Pickering, he was a tremendous help. Darren France also played a big part in it, as did other people from our club.
“It has been a stressful few days for us since the weekend, as Steve Wilson chose to call it a day after Saturday’s game.”
