Jimmy Beadle has rejoined Scarboorugh Athletic from Pickering Town.

The goalscoring midfielder left the club after helping Boro to the NCEL Premier title last season, scoring 11 goals in just a handful of games.

Beadle had previously turned out for Scarborough FC, York City, Whitby Town, having also enjoyed spells in Norway and Sweden.

Boro boss Rudy Funk said: “Jimmy will be a breath of fresh air for us. Not only is he a good player at this level with a proven track record, but he is also very physical, which is what we need at the moment.

“The lads have done well so far this season, but results have dipped in recent weeks and because of that we need to freshen things up.

“This is nothing new in football, we did it at the end of last season when Jimmy and a few others came in. Jimmy fits the bill perfectly this season as well.”

Rumours were also circling Coalville’s ground on Saturday that striker David Brown was departing the club. Boss Funk has moved quickly to quash these rumours.

Funk added: “Ossett Town had put seven days in for David, but I have spoken to him and he told me that his has no interest in leaving.

“That is great news for the club because it just demonstrates how much everybody wants to stay at Scarborough Athletic.”
