The former Harrogate Town, Gainsborough Trinity and Bradford Park Avenue man has become Boro’s third new recruit, joining Callum Terrell and Jordan Porter at the club.

It hasn’t taken Beesley long to underline his goals for the new Evo-Stik North campaign.

He said: “I had a very frustrating season at Harrogate last time out, I injured myself in pre-season and only played a few games at the back end.

“I’ve already been working hard to get ready for this pre-season because I’m looking forward to putting that behind me.

“I have a few aims for this season, firstly to score goals. I have done it in the Conference North, so I am confident I’ll get a fair few at this level.

“Promotion is the other aim I have, anything else for me is a failure.

“I’ve come here to win the league because I don’t have anything like that on my CV.

“I’ve reached play-offs in the past and played in the second round of the FA Cup, but I’ve never won a league, hopefully that will change this season.”

Beesley had a number of offers on the table ahead of the forthcoming campaign, but after studying his options, he viewed Boro as his perfect destination.

“Harrogate offered me something and I had three clubs from the Conference North chasing me, I didn’t have to drop down two leagues,” he added.

“I can see this club emulating the likes of Darlington and FC United. We just need to get that momentum that they have.

“The fanbase is amazing and I love anything like that.

“The manager (Steve Kittrick) knows a lot about these divisions, which is important, for me everything now can just fall into place.”
