Scarborough Athletic will face up to Evo-Stik South leaders Halesowen on Saturday without the services of Andy Milne and Steve Ridley.

The defensive duo are suspended for the game after their sending off at Chasetown a fortnight ago.

Boro boss Rudy Funk is boosted by the return of centre-back Paul Foot, who has recovered from an ankle knock.

Funk will also be able to call on the services of new boys Grant Ryan and Jordan Thewlis, who joined last week from Shirebrook and Brigg Town respectively.

Ryan netted on his debut at Bedworth last weekend, while Thewlis impressed on the left.

Funk said: “We have Steve and Andy missing, but fortunately Paul is available again and we have a good young full-back in Liam Shepherd, who is desperate to get involved.

“At a club like Scarborough Athletic every game is a big game.

“This one is even more so because they are top of the league, for once we slot into the category of underdogs.

“Whatever happens, I can promise that it will be a cracking match and one that I am really looking forward to.”

Funk is looking forward to seeing both Thewlis and Ryan in action for the second time after their promising debuts at Bedworth.

He added: “We are delighted to have both of these players in for the rest of the season and then beyond.

“Grant is a player that I know a lot about. He is strong, quick, he also creates and scores goals.

“Jordan is another gifted lad, who is exciting and can beat a man.

“We have to look at things if we are to progress this club.

“The key way of doing that has to be to improve our personel.”
