Scarborough Athletic have signed midfielder Cameron Murray from York City
The 19-year-old, who started his career in the Leeds United youth team, was originally poised to join Boro on loan from the League Two club, but the move has now been made permanent.
He will be involved in Boro’s squad when they play host to Clitheroe in the Evo-Stik North on Saturday.
Joint-manager Bryan Hughes said: “We’ve been trying to bring Cameron in for a few weeks now.
“Originally he was going to join on loan, but he arranged to have his contract cancelled so he could join us.
“Cameron obviously had a few more options, but with us already being in the pipeline, he opted to sign with us, which is great news for the club.
“We have spoken to Richard Cresswell and Michael Coulson about the player and both have given us glowing reports.
“He is of a similar stature to Jimmy Ghaichem and Ryan Williams, we will be hoping that he will bring a little more quality on the ball and the ability to unlock a few defences.”
