Siblings Matthew and Anna Bowman are hitting top form in their respective sports.
Matthew, who has just turned 15, skippered the England Independent Schools FA under-15s team at St George’s Park last month.
Two late goals saw the ISFA team lose 2-1 to Leicester City in their first game, but they bounced back to beat Birmingham City 4-0, Matthew claiming an assist for the third goal.
The ISFA side are heading to Scotland for a tour in Easter where they will tackle Rangers and Celtic before visiting Manchester United’s Carrington training complex on May Day Bank Holiday weekend to participate in a four-team tournament against United, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Proud dad John said: “Matthew also plays for Hull’s Academy team, playing on Sunday mornings for the Tigers’ under-16s in the Southern Development League against sides such as Crystal Palace, QPR, Bolton and both Sheffield clubs.”
Younger sister Anna, 10, has also had a successful 2015, having earned a place at Yorkshire CCC girls under-12s nets this month at Boroughbridge as well as impressing for the North Yorkshire Girls Centre of Excellence football team against the likes of Leeds United and Manchester United girls teams.
John added: “Anna plays for Scarborough CC under-11s and was forwarded by her coaches John Green and Dominic Grunwell to represent North Yorkshire girls under-11s.
“She played in five festivals across Yorkshire and her performances earned her a place in the Yorkshire nets.”
