Cup of change for Boro boss

BOSS Paul Olsson may shuffle his pack when Scarborough Athletic switch their attention to the NCE League Cup tonight.

Boro turned in comfortably their worst performance of the season against Long Eaton on Saturday, leaving Olsson checking his options.

Athletic don’t have the biggest squad, but there is the option of bringing in some of the younger players in James Webb, Josh Clayton and Callum Reid.

Bottesford meanwhile haven’t been in the best of form as they slipped to an 8-0 defeat against Staveley on Saturday in the NCEL first division - the league below Boro.

Olsson said: “I’ll be speaking to the lads before the game and I’ll make my decisions after that.

“There is the option of bringing the youngsters back in.

“Our subs brought more of a bright and sharp approach to a completely unacceptable performance on Saturday, so it is something we have to look at.

“What a difference seven days has made to the side. We said on Saturday that our confidence can’t be dented that much.

“There was a real lack of spark, but I am demanding a reaction.

“This reaction has to come from the players because we haven’t been approaching games any differently.

“Whoever plays has to go out there and perform. I won’t accept another display like Saturday or the second half against Brid.

“The Bottesford game is about us. If we go out there and show the right attitude then I don’t see it being a problem.”
