The 21-year-old started his career with Bradford City and has since played for Ossett Town, Harrogate Railway, Spennymoor and Ossett Albion.
He recently scored for Albion during Boro's 5-2 victory on the road at Dimple Wells.
Boss Steve Kittrick said: "He is a young lad, he's hungry and he knows the league.
"Nathan wanted to play at a bigger club and we are delighted to give him that opportunity.
"He scored a good goal against us this season and he did well for Ossett Town against us last term, so we know what he's capable of.
"This is another piece of the jigsaw."
