Centre-half Lisles and left-back Merris both missed Saturday’s Evo-Stik Division One North opener with Bamber Bridge, but the pair will come back into contention for the clash in Lancashire.

“I’m pleased to have these two lads back in the squad, we’ve still got a couple missing, but hopefully we’ll be back to full strength after this weekend,” manager Steve Kittrick said.

“We’re going to Clitheroe looking to win the game. If we’re serious about getting out of this league then we need to be starting the season well.

“We got a point on Saturday and I was pleased with the performance, but we need to build on that now.”

Kittrick has some idea of what to expect from the Blues having sent scouts to their fixture at Ossett Albion on Saturday where they led 2-0 before eventually drawing 2-2.

“We had them watched at the weekend, so we’ve got some idea of what they’re like,” he added.

“Like all the teams in this division, sides change game to game, especially for midweek matches, but we know that they like to try and play football.

“We’ll be ready for that and will have to look to get about them as well as making sure we play our own game.”
