Ex-Boro player's Town job

SCARBOROUGH Town have appointed former Boro midfielder Marcus Jones as player-coach.

The 34-year-old, who made 61 appearances and scored four goals in a Boro shirt before retiring from the professional game in 2002, has teamed up with Town director of football Mitch Cook at the Teesside League second division outfit who will be kicking off their debut season in August.

The tough tackling Jones also played for Telford, Cheltenham, Northwich and Yeovil, before making the move into the Scarborough Saturday and Sunday leagues where he has played for Eastfield, Strongwood and Star.
