Foot keen for Boro to put on a home show

Scarborough Athletic joint-boss Paul Foot is hoping for his side to put on a show on Saturday in the final home game of the season.

Boro may be out of the play-off reckoning now, but Foot is keen for his side to turn it on against lowly Padiham and sign off the season in style.

And with former boxing world champion Paul Ingle making to trip to Bridlington for the game, it could be a real end-of-season party.

“We could go down the route of putting youngsters in there, but no disrespect to the under-19s, that kind of risk is for pre-season,” said Foot.

“For me it is about finishing as high as we can in the table, so we are going out there to win the game and to show the appetite we have since Bryan (Hughes) and I took over.”

“We have Paul Ingle coming down for the game and we also want to show the fans, who have backed us since we took the role, what we are capable of doing.

“We will be treating Padiham with the utmost respect though. They may be down there in the table, but they won a game last week, so they’ll be full of confidence.”

Boro will run a late fitness test over Dean Lisles, which Kieran McCaffrey and James Bennett will both be out with injury.
