Former Boro defender Matty Turnbull re-signs for Pickering

Former Scarborough Athletic defender Matty Turnbull has committed to stay with Pickering Town next season.

Pickering Town manager Steve Roberts announced Turnbull's commitment to the club for the 2020-21 campaign in the NPL North West Division this morning, along with midfielder Iwan Heeley.

Former Boro coach Roberts said: "It is great news that Matty has committed to us for the coming season.

"He is one of the players who i really wanted to retain, not only is Matty a very strong defender, but he can also be a threat from set pieces in the attacking third .

"He has the club at heart and I want people like him at the club to help move the club forward in the next few seasons."
