Former Scarborough loan star Max Wright wins Grimsby Town Community Player of the Year award

Former Scarborough Athletic loan star Max Wright has been named as the Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust's PFA Community Player of the Year for the 2019/20 season.

A statement on the club's website said: "Chief Executive of Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust, Graham Rodger spoke regarding the midfielder's award. "Max has made countless appearances throughout the year at events, projects and initiatives in and around the local community", said Rodger. "I believe Max is a worthy winner of this year's trophy."

Wright said: "It's an honour to be nominated and chosen as the Community Player of the Year by the Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust.

"Coming through the club's academy system and as a local lad, it's always important to do everything I can to give back to the community that have and continue to support me and the club."
