Joe tragically died following a car accident in 2010, and his friends have gathered every year since to raise money for his son Sutton, who is now six-years-old.

This year’s game raised over £500 for Sutton’s trust fund, much to the delight of Danny Price, who helps organise the fixture.

Price said: “It was great for everyone to get together and rememberJoe again, his mum Linda was made up with the effort people put in yet again.

“We raised over £500 for Sutton’s trust fund, which is great.

“I have to thank everyone who played in the game, which ended in a 4-4 draw, and then came back to The Star in Cayton afterwards.

“Kristian Wright donated his fee as the DJ, so thank you to him too.”
