Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk is a happy man after his side were awarded home draws in their opening FA Cup and FA Trophy outings.
Boro have been handed a home tie against either North Shields or Pontefract in the FA Cup’s preliminary round. Should they progress to the first qualifying round then they will travel to either Thackley, Albion Sports, Holker OB or Ashington.
In the FA Trophy, Boro will host either Radcliffe Borough or Darlington in the first qualifying round.
Boss Funk said: “Right across the country, teams are hoping for home draws in the first round of these competitions. We have home draws in both, which I am absolutely delighted about.
“It will nice for the team to be at home and it will also be nice for the fans as well, who will get the chance to witness some cup action on our own patch.
“Obviously we can’t look too far past the ties that must be played first, but the chance to play Darlington in the FA Trophy at our place obviously stands out.
“It will certainly add a bit of spice, especially as we play them in the Evo-Stik North this season as well.”
