SCARBOROUGH Athletic pair Ryan Blott and Paddy Miller have vowed to stay put, despite interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid.
Evo-Stik Premier side Bradford Park Avenue have put the required seven days in for striker Blott and Ossett Town have shown their interest in full-back Miller.
Boro boss Rudy Funk revealed after last night’s defeat at home to Staveley that both have committed their future to the club.
He said: “We have a great squad and a great bunch of lads.
“They are all staying together because there are certain things that a manager can offer a player, which are financial rewards, a great club or big talking.
“There is something that I can offer though, and it is something that I can’t reveal at this moment.
“In time I might be able to tell everyone what it is, but it is something personal and that is why these lads are hanging on.
“They know that things will be better and better. They want to be part of the success story that is Scarborough Athletic.
“I can’t thank them enough for staying around, it does mean a lot to me. When the news broke I saw their reaction and I was delighted.
“I had wanted the result against Staveley to be the icing on the cake, but unfortunately things didn’t work out.”
