RUDY Funk is calling for more of the same after his Scarborough Athletic side hit Maltby Main for six on Saturday.

The Boro chief was delighted with another great performance, which pushed his team up to fourth in the NCEL Premier table.

“It was a six-star performance,” said Funk.

“The first half performance was very enjoyable. The three goals were just terrific.

“We keep talking about passing and moving. This game just showed how much you can benefit if you do it on a consistent basis.

“At this moment in timethings are looking very good. The strikers are scoring goals and we are keeping clean-sheets at the back.

“I did say that we are on the motorway now and putting our foot down. It is vital that we keep our discipline and keep doing what we are doing.

“If we do hat then who knows where we will finish.

“We have plenty of attacking options and we still have Ant Lynam on the bench. Ant did get a knock last weekend, but at the moment Ryan Blott and Curtis Bernard are on fire.

“I have spoken to Ant about the length of the season and the fact that we need everyone, he understands that perfectly.

“We said from day one that we need a big squad and the win against Maltby demonstrated that.

“At half-time we had to make some forced changes, bringing on Chris Hewitt and Scott Phillips, which shows how strong our bench is.

“I was delighted that Scott scored his goal, we have been working hard to get him in the side, but at the moment both Gary Hepples and Joe Naylor are playing so well.

“I also have to give a mention to our keeper Kevin Martin.

“During the two games that he has played we have scored 10 goals and conceded none.

“It is always nice for keepers to keep clean-sheets and I know he will be absolutely delighted with how things are going.”
