Six minutes later Ryan Watson's shot was then fumbled wide by Hyde keeper Lloyd Allinson.

On 37 minutes Michael Coulson's flicked header looked set to go in but was somehow cleared with the home keeper well-beaten.

Three minutes later a cross-shot from Kian Spence hit the bar, while Allinson ended up in the net while attempting to keep it out.

In the 51st minute Connor Thomson shot straight at Allinson after good build-up play from Walshaw and Coulson.

Two minutes later Jaheim Headley broke into the Boro penalty area but the ball was scrambled away to safety by the away side.

Shortly afterwards Boro claimed the lead through a wonder-goal from Glynn, whose scorching shot from 35 yards flew into the net off the crossbar.

Two minutes from time Boro defender Harry Spratt came to the visitors' rescue, holding up Tom Pratt as he was straight through on goal, and a minute later Hyde had a goal disallowed.

Athletic almost added a second goal late on, but Walshaw's shot was deflected wide after fine work from Glynn.

In injury-time Walshaw broke free again, but after stepping past the keeper he took the ball too wide and shot into the side-netting, but Boro had done enough to secure all three points.
