Grassroots sport to resume after lockdown, reports suggest
The ban on outdoor grassroots sport is set to be lifted in England when the second national lockdown ends next week, reports suggest.
All outdoor action has ground to a halt as the country was plunged into a second national lockdown.
Those bans for certain outdoor sports is likely to be lifted once the lockdown expires next week, which will allow local leagues across the area to get back into action.
Talking about grassroots sport, culture secretary Oliver Dowden told BBC Sport: "I'm desperate for it to come back.
"I am pretty hopeful and confident as we go back into the tier system. It's top of the list for us to get it back from 2 December. I know how valuable it is."
