Braeburn School’s girls football team have enjoyed a fine season playing in the Girls’ Super League.
Coming up against eight other schools in the area, Braeburn won six games, including beating eventual league winners St Peter’s.
At the end of the league, the girls finished joint second with Gladstone Road, qualifying for the Plate final where they took on Lindhead at Bramcote.
The final was a close game with Braeburn leading 3-0 early in the second half until Lindhead surged and pulled two goals back to set up a tense finale.
However striker Jess Hindle added a further three goals to ensure the final score was 6-2.
Teacher James Armstrong said: “The girls have done the school proud, not only in their performances, but also in their behaviour and sportsmanship throughout the season.
“Well done to all the girls on their achievement.”
