Hughes & Foot set to ring the changes

Changes look set to be rung for Scarborough Athletic on Saturday when they travel to Burscough in the Evo-Stik North.

Joint-bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot will have to run the rule over defenders Dean Lisles and Steve Ridley, as well as midfielder Jimmy Beadle.

The trio have all been hit by injury problems in recent weeks.

The Boro management team are boosted by their recent additions to the squad in Tom Corner, Danny Wilkinson and Alex Metcalfe, all of who look set to be involved on Saturday.

“Dean, Jimmy and Steve are all rated as 50-50, we will have to check on them when we get to the game,” Hughes said.

“Everyone else is fit, which is positive news.

“We have cover in the midfield, but Jimmy brings goals, he is a real asset going forward. With us looking to get back on track we could do with him being involved.

“It is a problem at the back as well because Dean and Steve make up two of a settled back-four.

“Fortunately we have brought Danny Wilkinson in and this could be the opportunity for him to come in and stake his claim. Matty Plummer is also raring to go after recovering from a recent sickness bug.”

Hughes is also excited about unleashing striker Corner on the Evo-Stik League.

He added: “When we had Alex Peterson on loan from Doncaster he did really well as the focal point of the attack.

“He allowed Gary Bradshaw, Ryan Blott, Jimmy Ghaichem and the other lads to play.

“Jimmy (Beadle) came in and did a job for a short period of time and you can’t complain about his record, he scored three in three games.

“We think Tom could be that pinnacle in attack. We need somebody to run the channels and put themselves about. Tom is a player that can do this.”
