Boro sealed promotion on Saturday when the beat Colne to make sure they finished at the top of the best third-placed team table, should they take up that position.

Hume is expecting nothing less than second though, as Boro head into tonight's home clash against Glossop and then Saturday's game against Ossett Albion at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

"We just want to finish the job now, we want that second place," said Hume.

"The main target of achieving promotion is in the bag, so that might take a bit of pressure off the lads, they have the chance to go out there and play with a bit more freedom.

"It is all about getting two wins on the board and then going into the North Riding FA Senior Cup final.

"The lads are like me and Steve (Kittrick), we want to finish as high as we can because we all have that winning mentality.

"I'm confident that they will go out there and do it for the club."

Full-back Jack Johnson is likely to return for Boro tonight, though midfielder Luke Dean starts a cruel three-match ban, which will see him miss the final.

Hume added: "I'm gutted for Luke because he has held us together brilliantly this season.

"His absence will give somebody else the chance to come in though and there have been a number of lads that have been patient in recent weeks.

"It is hard to change a winning team, but the lads have understood that. We haven't had any moaning, the feedback we have had in the changing room has all been positive because they want to be a part of it.

"They have all played their part this season and they will all finish up with a promotion on their CVs, which is great for everyone."
