The Boro boss confirmed skipper Michael Coulson and versatile wing-back Josh Barrett will both face fitness tests but will be unlikely to be able to start the fixture.

Donaldo Chimalilo is still out with a hamstring knock along with the three long term absentees in Isaac Assenso, Kieran Weledji and Luke Porritt.

There is a boost in the form of a return for midfield duo Neal Bishop, who was unavailable for Tuesday night's defeat at Buxton, and Kieran Glynn, who returns from a three-match suspension.

Kelly also confirmed key defensive duo Will Thornton and Ashley Jackson continue to play through the pain barrier for the side.

"It will come a bit too soon for Josh and Coulo to start, they'll both have fitness tests and hopefully be able to take up a place on the bench," said Kelly.

"They both trained on Thursday night so that is a step in the right direction for them, with one eye on Tuesday's derby against Whitby Town.

"Donald is still out with his hamstring knock, but we have Bish and Glynny back this weekend which is a massive boost for us.

"There are a few knocks about, Will and Ash are battling through the pain barrier, which just shows the types of character they are."

Kelly is keen to get back to winning ways in his side's first home league encounter of the season.

"It'll be wonderful to have the fans back in with us," said the Boro manager.
