Jacob has a cracker as he hits nine in Park mauling
Eighteen-year-old Codling only signed for Division One champs Newlands this season and had been begging gaffer Ben Luntley to push him up front after a string of games at full-back.
The Scarborough Sixth Form pupil definitely nailed down his place after hammering in an incredible nine goals, despite the referee blowing up early after 70 minutes.

“The pick of them was my seventh, which was a penalty that I dinked into the corner.”
Newlands boss Luntley was quick to sing the praises of Codling’s achievement.
“Jacob is brilliant, he’d been filling in at full-back and begging me to go up front,” said Luntley.
“I was hoping he’d get to double figures, but the ref blew up early. It’s some going getting nine in one game.”
