An unnamed club from the league above and a side from the same division have put in the required seven-day notice to try and lure the former Doncaster Rovers and Harrogate Town man away.

But Nelthorpe is 100% focused on finishing the season with Boro and trying to get Steve Kittrick’s side into the Evo-Stik North play-offs.

“A couple of teams have come in for me, but I’ll be staying with Scarborough,” he said.

“The gaffer convinced me to come down at the beginning of the season and I’ve really enjoyed it.

“Things had dropped off a bit, but a few more good results and we’ll be right in there.

“I’m feeling a lot sharper on a personal note as well, having played through a couple of injuries.

“I had picked up a hamstring strain and then, after coming back from that, I got a knock on my knee at Glossop.

“It is great to not be playing with pain because that affects your game.”

Nelthorpe is also looking forward to being a part of the club’s future as football returns to Scarborough next season.

He added: “I can remember Dave Penney giving me a chance and playing in a pre-season friendly for Doncaster Rovers at the McCain Stadium and it was a great atmosphere.

“It is great that the club is coming back to play in town, it has a very bright future.”
