Boro have announced their retained list for the 2020/21 season

Boro had already announced the signings of Kieran Weledji, Kieran Glynn and Nathan Cartman, while Jack Johnson had left the club.

Captain Michael Coulson will be staying at Boro into the last year of his current contract, while James Walshaw, Ryan Watson, Chris Dawson, Josh Barrett, Harry Coates, Jimmy Beadle, Ryan Blott and Isaac Assenso have also agree to stay at the club.

The club remain in negotiations with five players to try and keep them at the club, with Wayne Brooksby, Luke Porritt, Tommy Taylor, Kian Spence and Pete Davidson yet to put pen to paper.

Boss Darren Kelly is delighted to have tied down nine of his squad for the coming season.

"I'm ecstatic that we have managed to keep these nine players at the club," said Kelly.

"A lot of them had offers from elsewhere and on more money too, so for them to buy into our vision and want to stay with us is fantastic.

"I was fearful of losing some of these players, so to keep them is a great boost for the club.

"We are still in negotiations with five players with regards to next season and Jack (Johnson) has decided to leave us.

"I am also looking at bringing in another three, maybe four new signings to the club, depending how things go."
