Pickering Town boss Jimmy Reid is now looking forward to the rest of the season after his side hauled themselves back on track over the past week.

The 2-1 defeat at Long Eaton may still be weighing heavy on Reid’s mind, but his mood has been lifted by Tuesday’s 7-0 mauling of Winterton and Saturday’s 6-2 win against Staveley.

Joe Danby collected a treble against Staveley, while there were further strikes from Ged Dalton, Lewis Taylor and new signing Nathan Cook.

Reid said: “I’m still not happy about the defeat against Long Eaton, but sine then we have been firing on all cylinders.

“Joe has been firing in goals for fun and we have been playing some great football.

“We have been helped by the fact we are back on our own pitch and our groundsman John Smith has done such a fantastic job.

“Nathan has come in at a good time as well. He is a colossal signing, a big and strong player that wins everything.”

The Pikes are back in action on Saturday when they host Northern League side Crook Town in the FA Vase.
