Scarborough News sports reporter Daniel Gregory became the first points scorer of the season in our four-way prediction battle.
Gregory’s predicted the correct score for the game between Manchester United and Southampton last weekend, to ease himself one point clear of Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk, Brid manager Mitch Cook and Martin Dowey of the Scarborough News.
This week’s games have an international flavour, as the English Premiership gives way to the first round of World Cup qualifiers.
Roy Hodgson will be hoping to hit the ground running when his team take the trip to Moldova, while other home nation countries Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland are also in action.
Hodgson will be without talisman Wayne Rooney for the game on Friday night, though he will be expecting big things from Rooney’s Manchester United clubmate Danny Welbeck.
Boro boss Funk will be hoping to use his inside knowledge, as his country of birth Romania are also involved in the predictions.
