When I first heard that we had been given the award for top Evo-Stik South club in November I was speechless.
This is an award that was earned from behind the scenes as well as on the pitch.
The chairman and the board have worked tirelessly to allow me to bring in the players to push this club forward.
So when you are honoured like this by your peers in the division it really is the icing on the cake to show how far we have come.
The players are obviously very satisfied and it demonstrated that they have really come together as a group.
Having played at different clubs, they have had to accept the mentality at Scarborough Athletic. They have now done that and settled in perfectly.
It isn’t about managers, this is about the people who work their socks off, I am just here to put the pieces of the jigsaw in place.
i would like to say a huge well done to everyone at the club who has played their part in us receiving this award.
On a less happy note, we bowed out of our last cup of the season on Tuesday night, though that can be seen as a positive.
The league dictates the pace of our season at the moment and if we keep playing as we are at the moment then I can see things becoming very interesting.
I decided that we have to focus 100 per cent on the league, which was one of the reasons that we gave a few of the younger lads a run-out on Tuesday night against Brigg.
From now on though, every game for Scarborough Athletic will be massive.
