Rudy Funk’s column: The hard work starts here

I didn’t realise that the outing against Long Eaton last week was my 100th game in charge of Scarborough Athletic.

This whole thing isn’t about me though, it is about the club, that is what I think is important.

I am just following on from the amazing work that Brian France and his son Darren did after the club’s formation.

You also have to look at the likes of Dave Kemp, Ryan Blott, Arran Reid and all the others who have played their part in the history of the club.

The players are the ones who have made the difference since I took over. All I am here for is to give them guidance.

It has been a great ride since I took over for that game at Pickering.

So far we have got it half right, but there is still so much work that we have to do and there are an awful lot of obstacles for us to jump.

One of the great things for me is the fact that I have a great chairman and a great board to work with.

They are all working their hardest to push this club in the right direction, which is fantastic for any manager.
