Liam Salt and sub Mikey Barker hit second-half doubles to help Trafalgar battle back and beat Angel 4-1 to lift the North Riding County FA Sunday Challenge Cup final at the Flamingo Land Stadium tonight.
Traf started the brighter of the two sides and keeper Scott Wardman was kept busy, particularly from a dipping and curling Luke Jones free-kick.
Despite their solid start, Traf found themselves behind against the run of play when Martin Cooper's free-kick was bundled into his own net by Danny Price and Angel took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Traf grabbed an equaliser just a couple of minutes into the second half, Salt showing his predatory skills to bundle over the line after a scramble in the box.
Barker was introduced from the bench and Traf soon took the lead for the first time in the contest when Matthew Griffiths brought down a Traf man in the box and Salt confidently swept home from the penalty spot.
Traf scented blood and poured forward in search of the killer goal and it came when Barker was left unmarked in the six-yard box and he duly found the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
Wardman smartly thwarted Barker when he found himself one-on-one with the striker, but he could do nothing to prevent the same man killing off the contest when the industrious Sam Garnett unselfishly squared him the ball to tap into an empty net to wrap up the scoring at 4-1.
Angel huffed and puffed and threw on Isaac Sands, Neil Thomas and Danny Collins in search of a way back into the game, but when Neil Thomas' rasping volley flew wide, their challenge was up.
