Salt calls time at Traf

The 30-year-old has been in charge for seven years on and off, with his time at the club keeping the Scarborough pub's trophy cabinet creaking.

Salt has been lured away though by a return to Saturday League football and also so he can spend time with his young family.

Traf will continue with two teams in the Sunday League, but a manager for the Division One title holders has yet to be confirmed.

"I stepped down at the end of the season, I'm just finding it hard fitting everything in," said Salt.

"As everyone managing or running a Sunday League team will know, it is a lot of effort.

"It is the ringing round and the going round to pull people out of bed on a Sunday.

"I have had a lot of help, I would like to thank Martin Dixon and also my assistant-manager Wayne Aziz.

"I couldn't have done it without Martin, he has helped with the kit and other things just to take the pressure off.

"I will probably carry on playing for Traf, but I want to give Saturday League football a go again and I also want to spend more time with my family on a weekend."

Salt is happy with the club's achievements during his time in charge.

He added: "We have won everything that we set out to win.

"We won both North Riding FA cups and all of the trophies in the Sunday League.

"The main thing that I wanted to achieve last season was winning the title back, and we managed that.

"My main highlights were helping the club to win seven league titles in a row and we also won the North Riding FA County Cup at the first attempt in the 2014-15 season.

"The lads have been spot on during my time in charge. I would like to thank them all, past and present."
