Sleights’ promotion hopes were dashed by a 1-0 defeat at a resurgent Filey Town Reserves side, the result confirming USB’s elevation to the top flight as runners-up to Edgehill Reserves.

Ben Eblet scored the only goal of the game with header from a long throw in the first half. Sleights, who were without their keeper Dave Fish, had two goals disallowed.

Centre-back Luke Kempson was named as the man of the match for Filey, who have gone from being in the relegation zone to a top-five finish in a matter of weeks thanks to a final flourish.

Keeper Michael Hunter also played well to deny Sleights as Town capped their campaign with a superb performance.
